  1. The world where we live in, we can communicate with our friends and relatives easily. Some devices were invented for this purpose; however, it is said that they are sometimes harmful to human beings. To my mind, technology isn´t as bad as we think.
To begin with, we can feel nearer our family and friends although we are at the other side of the Earth now that we can be in touch with them whenever we want. Moreover, it is a cheaper tool that sending a letter since we could go to a library and use computers for free, or bring our own laptop, tablet or smartphone there.
In addition to that, we catch up news in our town or in the world in a few seconds even we can read newspaper in other languages. Another plus is the fact that, we can get books, clothes or any stuff comfortably.
In contrast, it is certain technology creates addiction to us since human beings are curious and we are keen on knowing trivial things in life such as where our friends purchase clothe, your classmate has an affair with somebody, your ex-boyfriend posted a picture on any social networking and so on. What is more, we think that the digital world is better than the real world is because the relationship is easier and we “hide” our real personality and image behind an account of any social networking.
All things considered, I believe that technology is a useful tool in order to get information about a specific topic or be in contact with people. We have to know problems that technology can have to use it so much, though.

  2. ADDICTED TO TECHNOLOGY?
The huge technological revolution of the last years has had a massive impact on our lives. Nowadays, everything is developed by the use of the Internet, social networking and instant messages. Electronic devices, such as computer, ipad, smartphone, smart TV or MP4 player are getting better every year. As such, it is worth asking whether there are so many advantages or the enormous technological revolution has triggered some behaviour problems, like addiction. Personally, I strongly believe that behaviour problems have soared sharply over the last years, so there is probably a correlation between new technology and addictive behaviour.
First, as for advantages, new technologies enable people to enhance their everyday life and are a good way to keep up to date, since they allow us to use the Internet easily. Sharing information, photos and videos, or some economic advantages have opened the door for a fascinating world. For example, you can pay for bills or can do shopping online instead of going to the bank or a shopping centre, so it is a good way to save time and money. Moreover, you can make friends and keep in touch with them, as well.
However, if I had to spend three months on an isolated place in the middle of nowhere, how would I manage without my mobile phone? To be honest, I could not live without my mobile phone or my ipad, as many people. Maybe, I am truly addicted to them.
Although new technologies are so much fun, they can be dangerously addictive, so they can cause sleeping problems, symptoms of anxiety or lack of real social bonds. Traditionally, people were addicted to tobacco, alcohol, sex or drugs, such as heroin or cocaine. When you had an addiction to something, it was very difficult to give up. But now, forms of addiction have changed.
One of the main addictive activities is the use of games online. The alarming increase in the number of people playing online has led to a similar rise in addictive behaviour. The more you play, the more you need playing. People play again, and again and again.
Anyway, regarding addiction, I think that the most important thing is to find the root causes of the problem, in order to tackle it. The key element is that games online stimulate the part of the brain responsible for the rewarded system. You enjoy your behaviour about pleasure and motivation, so it gradually has an effect on how you act. Definitely, it affects your behaviour.
On the other hand, most people have got used to social networking, such as Facebook or twitter. Some people, particularly the young, spend all night using social networks. Maybe young people are obsessed with them. They have grown up with modern technologies, so they are members of today's Facebook generation. Furthermore, old people have found their feet quickly, as well. Of course this is a way to socialise and make friends, but at the same time, some people can find the real world boring. It may be a false way of socialising. It is why it is important to be careful with using social networking, in order not to run the risk of addiction. Consequently, rules and limits are necessary. Put differently, social networking should be used in small doses.
In addition to that, the use of instant messages has become an obsession. If it hadn't been for whatsApp, many people wouldn't use the internet on their mobile phone now. It is easy to see people using their mobile phone and checking their messages. What is really dangerous is the fact that it happens while walking in the street, or driving. They do not pay attention to anything,
As for solutions, if you have an addiction problem with using new technologies, you need to accept the problem in order to face it. Most people end up seeing a specialist. The sooner, the better.
To conclude, new technologies provide a powerful tool for our everyday life, but they shouldn't be a replacement for traditional means, because of the impact on our ability to communicate and the addictive behaviour that can be triggered.

  3. TECHNOLOGIES IN MODERATION

New technologies, such as mobile phones or tablets which open the door for the internet world, not always provides good benefits. So, in my view, if we used them moderately, we would get much more advantages in our daily life.
Firstly, I want to underline the fact that nowadays technology is linked to most scopes of our life, on personal and professional levels. In fact, if I had grown up in our current society, I would probably have had a mobile phone like my favourite toy. In most cases, technologies make our life much easier. For example, internet provides us immediate information about what is going on around the world.
On the other hand, there are some disadvantages. More and more people need to check their whatsapp or facebook too often, so this practice is becoming a powerful addiction. You can meet a friend, but it is imposible to have a chat with her because she is talking in parallel with other friends on the internet. This kind of situation drives me up the wall. In my opinion, it is a false way of socializing due to the fact that we are supposed to have a lot of friends, even though we could be outsiders, in fact.
What is more, people can get nervous or be worried because they left their mobiles at home. A lot of teenagers cannot stop playing video games. With reference to this issue, a recent opinion poll from Córdoba magazine on addiction to the technologies in the school ambit reveals 9’4% students questioned admitted to check their mobiles more than five times while they are in class. As a consequence, since all these things happen, we face a serious problem of people’s behaviour which could damage their health.
To sum up, technology has transformed our way of life, but depending on the way to use it, we could get good benefits or be addicted to innovations.

  4. In my case, I use technology every day because of my job, but I can't say I'm addicted to it. As the video shows, an addict is someone who can't live without checking his or her phone almost every minute in order to read the latest posts made by his or her friends on social networks, such as Facebook or Twitter, or simply without sending messages constantly using messaging applications. Put differently, an addict is someone who struggles to have a normal social life, so I can't really relate to that kind of person.

That said, I think technology is a very powerful tool when it's used right. For instance, if you want to do your homework, you can search for endless information about certain topics on Google. In addition to this, you can communicate with your relatives and friends from all over the world using some specific software, or even social networks like Facebook or Twitter, something really useful when it comes to keeping in touch with your loved ones. Personally, I consider this to be one of the greatest technological advances ever as there are many people who have to go abroad for work reasons and who don't want to lose contact with their family.

On the contrary, we have to be very careful with our children and their use of technology if we don't want them to become addicts. We are used to seeing more and more kids using devices like tablets or laptops, but we should never forget that this can be very dangerous, especially if we don't know what they're actually doing. Not to mention the fact that many kids are addicted to online games, and, after having played for hours, they have temper tantrums when you tell them it's time to stop playing, which, honestly, is really unpleasant. That's why I believe adults should be mature enough to not let their children play for so long. The less, the better.

In conclusion, I think technology needs to be used sensibly, because, as mentioned before, it has a lot of advantages. But the way you use it is up to you. You are the one who decides if you want to end up having an addiction or making a responsible use of all the possibilities it offers. My advice is: choose the last one. Life will be easier.

  5. **"Electronic Heroin” breeds Internet addiction**
The Internet plays a big role in our life. Thus, we use it for work and entertainment alike, such as staying in contact with relatives and friends, finding new recipes or looking for some advice on how to stay healthy. It's becoming the center of everything.
When the Internet knocks on our doors, it's really difficult for us not get completely seduced by it. However, could too much use of the Internet correlates with certain health problems and addictive behaviors?. As far as I'm concern, I think that we are definitely bound to see, not only physical, but also psychological and emotional ailments short term, mainly based on excessive use of the Internet.
According to WHO, up to 30 percent of spanish teens under 18, who spend over six hours a day online, are expected to lose their interest in school by the end of this year, devoting much of their time to gaming and chatting with friends. They may end up showing a fierce dependency on the Net, similar to that one stemming from drug addiction. And it comes to such an extent, that they would be even up for wearing diapers so as to avoid going to the bathroom. In many cases, the mere lack of an access point to the Net, drives them up the wall and makes them to lose their temper, as a clear symptom of what is usually called as Internet Addiction Disorder.
As for physical damages, an overuse of the Internet (14 hours a week is considered the border line), may be linked with signs of postural deformities and high blood pressure. Technically speaking, the more thrilled teens feel while gaming, the higher their blood pressure will get. This key factor is responsible for making their hearts and blood vessels work harder, putting youngsters to the risk of a heart attack, a stroke or some kind of brain disease, like depression, memory disorders or anxiety which, unquestionably, account for child obesity, frustration and the bad performance at school.
Having said that, we should never forget that the Internet is part of our daily life and we shouldn't feel deterred from using it. However, in order to crack down on its overuse, it is really important for parents to limit their children's access to the Internet to two hours a day, five days a week. In this sense, it is crucial being gentle when it comes to tackle this problem. Otherwise, it would be like adding fuel to fire. It would lead kids to frustration, to become nervous and to lose their temper, following a deplorable downward spiral.
In addition, parents should also foster a responsible use of web connections, far from playing games. Moreover, it would be better for kids to take regular breaks from their computers or smartphones, to hang out with friends and do some kind of physical activity.
I wouldn't like to finish this writing without honouring the invaluable researches conducted on this field by psychologists. Doubtlessly, if it hadn't been for them, their tests and diagnosis on this matter, our children wouldn't be able to freely enjoy the Internet nowadays.
All in all, despite the fact that our society tends to turn a blind eye to the severe consequences stemming from this “electronic heroin”, it's fair to say that it is pretty easy to come out of this woeful situation and turn it into a rewarding experience everytime you surf on the Internet.

  6. It’s a well-known fact that today we are involved in, as the reporter says, a massive process of changing in our way to live. A technological revolution is playing a decisive role in our works, families and even in our intimate relationships. As a result, new technologies influence almost every part of our lives, but would be they considered as a real threat?
On the one hand, I am of the opinion that our lives wouldn’t be the same without new technologies. They make easier our daily routines and we can take advantage of them not only for working. For instance, they help us to communicate along the distances and we can keep connecting all the time. It seems clear to me what the advantages are, but we have to be conscious about their problems.
As the video says, they are powerfully addictive for some people who have a mental or psychological disposition. It have been demonstrated that they strongly affect our brain giving us an immediate pleasure. What is more, our brain get flooded of pleasure with some digital activity, for example, when gaming or checking a social network who has been retweeted or shared. Furthermore, our mood could even be affected by these activities because of the instant reward. And here is to me the main problem. I’m a teacher and I can notice the effect that they have in our children. According to some experts, our pupils’ brain is still developing and we had to take this fact into account when it comes to the use of new technologies. It said that a 0-2 year old children mustn’t be exposed to any screen or game. Moreover, some of them almost lack socialisation since they’re not used to play with others in a natural environment. What is more, it’s argued that the increase in the rate of TDAH is the result of lifestyle changes such as decreased physical activity, unstructured play time, and time spent in a natural environment.
All things considered, there’s no point in consider a heavy use as an addiction. As the reporter says, we don’t have to panic, we only must take responsibilities regarding the use of new technologies and be aware of their dangers.
